Entity information: Since 2011, the company has been in the agriculture business. The company cultivates 256 hectares of land to yield 580 tons of wheat, 80 tons of rapeseed from 220 hectares, 250 tons of oats from 100 hectares of land, 10,000 packs of fodder from70 hectares, and alfalfa in 50 hectares of land within 3rd bagh territory of Norovlin soum. Since 2016, the company has been conducting combined business with intensified beef farming, with 3 farms on 200x300m land and 1100 heads of cattle.
Partner entity: 162 herders from 100 herder households, Khan-Uul, Bayan, Berkh-Oil and Seveltiin Bulag Cooperatives, Bodi Tara LLC veterinary department, and Gazar Agro LLC.
Partnership profile: Establish a centralized system for raw material collection and transportation, improve cattle composition, create fodder supply, provide information and training to herder groups, and form cooperatives.
Project objective: Cooperate by forming herders’ cooperatives and groups to improve herder’s cattle flock composition with breeds of cattle we own, create shared fodder fund, provide appropriate knowledge on fodder uses, improve the accessibility of veterinary services, and disseminate disease prevention information to reduce the livestock mortality rate.
Planned activities: Forming cooperatives and partnership groups amongst 100 households based on the flock type and headcounts to improve cattle composition with high-productivity breeds for a final result of increased livestock productivity; support the education of herder women; create a shared fodder fund and deep wells in cooperation with herder cooperatives, and jointly organize livestock raw material transportation.
Proposed solutions: To increase livestock productivity by improving the flock structure, change attitude to prefer quality over quantity, and reduce the livestock mortality rate by improving herder’s veterinary knowledge on disease prevention.
Beneficiaries: Increased income of 100 herder families of Norovlin soum, Khentii province, improved knowledge amongst 162 herders with regularly disseminated information, and over 5,000 consumers will be supplied with high-quality beef of trustable origin that meet the quality standards.
