Project name: Improving the dairy cattle breeding and production
Entity information: Rural Development Partnership NGO was established in 2017. The NGO provides support for rural community social activities and participation in disseminating information on advanced technology and innovative ideas.
Partner entities: National Center for Livestock Genetic Resources, Animal husbandry and biotechnology school of Mongolian University of Life Sciences, “Nutag academy” NGO, “Mongolian Zooenginer’s Association” NGO, and “Jargalant milk” cooperation.
Project objectives: To ensure basic conditions for improved productivity of local cattle by establishing a dairy cattle breeding and productivity registration and information network system and implementing the use of the system into daily operations of the dairy farmers.
Planned activities:
Develop 5 recipes on cattle feeding program and nourishment and publish
Develop a cattle breeding and selection database (application) and introduce it into daily operations
Organize training for breeding technicians twice
Provide artificial insemination services on 150 cows
Proposed solutions:
Ensure a condition to plan and implement efficient breeding and selection activities of the cattle by establishing a coordinated centralized system of livestock breeding and productivity information database and veterinary and breeding selection services online ordering system
Enable opportunities for ordering and controlling the animal health and breading selection services through the use of an online database system (application) by registering dairy cattle breeding and benefits information and promoting its regular use amongst the herders
Ensure conditions for centralized planning coordination by enabling opportunities to use dairy cattle information and statistics of the region
Beneficiaries: A total of 4,062 citizens and 17 organizations. Out of which the direct beneficiaries are 4,062 citizens from 1,225 households, 20 breeding technicians, and the indirect beneficiaries are 17 organizations (4 government organizations in the agricultural field, 6 NGOs, 3 veterinary clinics, and 4 SMEs)
